Urban planning may be a good foundation for a political career. Three urban planners, including William Fulton, are elected to the Ventura City council.
On November 4, three new city councilmembers were elected in Ventura City, California, with two of the three garnering the most votes. William Fulton, a nationally recognized urban planner, author, and publisher of The California Planning & Development Report; Christy Weir, a freelance writer who recently led a fundraising drive to purchase Grant Park cross; and incubment and planner Carl Morehouse all were elected. "After a contentious battle over those issues last year, Fulton said he hoped this election would help bring residents together. 'Come down to City Hall on Monday nights and hold me accountable,' he said. 'That's part of the bargain.' "
