"Board by board Neal Bykerk tears down his old barn, now ringed by expensive homes. Located at the corner of Willoughby Road and Lott Avenue, it was part of an 80-acre farm that's now 130 homes in the College Heights Subdivision. The average home value is $235,000. Barns in mid-Michigan and across the nation are rapidly disappearing from the landscape because of development pressures and high maintenance costs."
