Among the results: There are now 50,000 fewer cars entering central London every day, a drop in traffic of 16%; Because traffic is moving more freely, car journeys in the zone are now 14% quicker than they were before the charge; Congestion in the zone has dropped by around 30% -- congestion is now lower than at any stage since the mid-1980s; Although the net revenues from the scheme are less than anticipated, over £68million in net revenues will be raised in 2003/04 and £80million to £100million in future years for reinvestment in further transport improvements.
