Sprawl Reduces Available Jobs

Smart growth offers a job-producing alternative to urban sprawl.

According to Good Jobs First, a Washington-based economic watchdog, smart growth communities are more conducive to job creation than urban sprawl. Atlantic Station one of the smart growth communities studied, will achieve 20,000 to 30,000 jobs. Jeff Rader, policy director for Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, disagrees, explaining that there are "suburban efficiencies" that offer a more beneficial environment than the denser smart growth communities.
