"The new Time Warner Center, at the southwest corner of Central Park, isn't a bad piece of urban design.... If you don't look up, you could like this building." After a long and tortured history for one of New York's most prominent and valuable real estate sites, a new development project has finally arisen. "The center originated when the government decided to sell off a piece of public land to private developers. A really big building would pay for a lot of subway cars. But that isn't the way to construct a city...."
