"The aim of the South Providence Development Corporation is to put the old industrial building into productive reuse for office work or light manufacturing, to generate economic activity in a blighted area, and to create job opportunities for the neighborhood, among other goals... It is billed as 'Rhode Island's first green and smart building,' because it has conservation features, such as a system to capture and use rainwater, and advanced wiring for information technology... it a model that should be replicated in Providence as a way to uplift poor neighborhoods."
