A lack of community involvement has made residents of an Orlando neighborhood suspicious of new redevelopment plans.

Of the 23 members on the City of Orlando's citizen redevelopment task force for the blighted Parramore community, only one is a resident of the neighborhood. Members unfamiliar with the area were given a two hour bus tour of the community. The unbalanced makeup of the task force has underscored what many are calling a poor attempt at involving Parramore residents in the city's new vision for the area. As the redevelopment moves forward, city and community leaders are trying to see how local residents and new arrivals can work together to improve the area.
