LA City Councilwoman Gallanter comes out strongly against SCAG's maglev transportation proposal.
Los Angeles City Councilwoman Ruth Gallanter lists five reasons why the Southern California Association of Government's proposal for a magnetic levitation train in Southern California. Gallanter writes in a Los Angeles Times editorial: "SCAG's proposal to connect airports to other airports is just bad planning. Good planning connects airports to population centers, so people can go to Ontario Airport or Palmdale Airport instead of having to crowd into overcrowded terminals and overcrowded airspace at LAX," and suggests that the maglev is really just a money train. SCAG's proposal was submitted earlier this week to the Federal Rail Authority.
