The San Francisco Chronicle offers the S.F. Planning Department advice on how to fix itself.
"Building- permit applicants complain of a lengthy and uncertain permit process. Neighbors can't understand how such 'terrible' buildings can be approved and why they aren't adequately involved in the planning process. Staff has complained about management decision-making, lack of support and unhealthy and unsafe working conditions, including a stabbing in front of the Information Counter inside our offices on Mission Street."
