Palm Springs, California, the desert hideaway of the rich and famous, is seeing a boom in casinos that is upsetting residents and businesses that do not want to see their city turn into another Las Vegas.

Palm Springs, California, a desert resort town, is famous for attracting Hollywood stars and other celebrities. Since Proposition 1A was approved in March by California voters, Palm Springs and other parts of the Coachella Valley are seeing a boom in casinos run by Native American tribes. This is upsetting longtime residents and businesses that are concerned this might destroy the tranquility of Palm Springs.
