Streetsblog USA asked their readers what methods, besides the usual public service announcements and billboards, would encourage safer driving. Kea Wilson outlines the top responses.

These include “self-education infrastructure,” such as educational signage warning of upcoming new road features; policymaker or “upstream” education that ensures people with decision-making power understand what new infrastructure is doing and how road safety impacts all of their constituents; improved driver’s education; better education in schools about road safety and transportation options; and “next-level PSAs” that thoughtfully target specific audiences and can help shift the conversation.

See the source article for more details on each strategy.
