Florida will soon be home to 170 miles of higher-speed, intercity rail service.

With the completion of the final section of rail line running from South Florida to the state’s center, Florida now has 170 miles of higher-speed, intercity rail service, connecting Miami to Orlando.
Brighline is planning to run 16 daily round trips between Orlando and Miami later this year. Brightline unveiled its new Orlando train station in April 2023.
Test trips running at speeds of up to 110 miles per hour will continue through July, according to an article by Tony Atkins. Trains will eventually reach 125 miles per hour, according to earlier reports. A gathering of mayors commemorated the historic achievement of new intercity rail capacity in the Sunshine State.
Brighline is still planning to expand intercity rail service even farther, with plans to connect Orlando to Tampa on the state’s western Gulf Coast.
