Ontario's Economic Development Minister, Joe Cordiano, acknowledges community willingness is important to siting new casinos.

Ontarios new Liberal government, strapped for cash, has announced that it will seek to build more casinos in the province, Ontario Economic Development Minister Joe Cordiano said recently. A review of the province will be made to determine the best locations for the new development. Where it makes sense, where there's a growth strategy potential, we'll put the casinos there. And I think you have to have communities that want them. Gaming at Ontarios three commercial casinos, each located strategically for capturing US markets, generated over 7,700 jobs and $2.2 billion (CAD) in receipts in 2003. Local governments received payments of $14.1 million (CAD).
