After the fall elections put a more development-friendly board into place in Loudoun, many see the fight for growth controls shifting to Stafford.
For the past several years Loudoun County, Virginia has been the center of the of the growth/no-growth debate in the Northern Virginia area. Tremendous residential and commercial development in the burgeoning county spawned a fierce battle between pro-development and slow-growth activists. However, in the last election, much of the slow-growth board was replaced with a slate of more development-friendly officials. As a result, the slow-growth activists seem to be shifting their sights to Stafford County.
