A pair of 15-story sugar silos in West Jordan, UT could be renovated into a museum and an arts and culture center.
As West Jordan, UT continues to develop from a Salt Lake City suburb into its own city, a pair of 90 year old sugar silos could form a cornerstone of the new city center. The city is currently raising money for feasability studies on how the two buildings could be turned into a culture center and a museum. They are adjacent to the City Park and close to City Hall and a the West Jordan station of the light rail extension. There is debate about whether commercial projects would be allowed in the city-owned property, and funding for the renovation is still uncertain.
