SOUTHAMPTON, NY - Eight to 10-bedroom vacation rentals become affordable off-season. With rents of $3000 a month, groups of college students can live in a spacious home with big screen tv, pool, tennis court, and a state-of-the-art-kitchen - all for $300 a month. The same house rents for up to $70,000 a summer.Growing numbers of wealthy year-round residents are complaining about crowds, noise and trash. And residents of regular means say they can't rent a one-bedroom apartment for less than $1,084 a month.
