When I'm out shopping, I can't stop myself from analyzing even the littlest things and wondering why they're done that way. Often I bristle at tiny transgressions that I find annoying, mostly issues that would be so easy to fix, if only anyone would bother...It turns out that the mall's successes and failures are fascinating. There are real reasons why the mall is both derided and enduringly popular. And there are real ways that it could be improved -- if only anyone bothered."
