Roofing professionals' task force defines sustainable roofing and outlines best practices.

Summarizing the work of a multi-year, international task force "to determine the state-of-the-art design, application and maintenance of sustainable low-slope membrane roof systems," this article describes how the task force arrived at their definition of a sustainable roofing system and briefly discusses the Cool Roof Rating Council, green roof systems, reflectivity and photovoltaic panels. It also provides a link to the task force's full report for members of the CIB (International Council for Research and Innovation in Building Construction).
