ULI plans to bring together movers and shakers for a new look at regional planning in metropolitan Washington, D.C.
Next January, the local Washington chapter of the Urban Land Institute plans to host an all day brainstorming session to look at ways to plan for an additional 1 million or more new residents expected to live the area by 2020. Dubbed, "Reality Check", the meeting will bring together a wide variety of experts, community leaders, and other advocates. "The groups organizing Reality Check don't expect to solve all of Greater Washington's growth woes in one day, but they think it can be a source of ideas for local governments and lay the groundwork for more formal strategies developed in the months, even years, following the event."
