The Plano, Texas city council approved new short-term rental regulations that ban STRs in single-family zoned neighborhoods but permit them in commercial zones, report Amelia Jones for Fox 4.

“New short-term rentals can also operate with on-site management in parts of the city labeled "heritage districts" in Haggard Park and Downtown,” according to Jones.

Short-term rentals listed on platforms like Airbnb are a contentious issue in many localities where the rise of STRs has precipitated a reduced housing stock and higher housing costs.
