Glen Park Marketplace in San Francisco may soon include transit-adjacent mixed-use grocery store, housing and library branch.
"The $10.5 million project calls for an 8,500 square-foot public library, a 6,500 Bi-Rite Market and 15 two-bedroom apartments at the corner of Diamond and Wilder streets, next to the neighborhood's BART station, according to City Librarian Susan Hildreth... 'Change is difficult for people,' Hildreth said. 'A library in a mixed-use project is something a lot of people are not used to or comfortable with -- it's future thinking and urban-planning meeting reality.' "
