A cattle ranch in the Mount Hamilton range above Gilroy will be acquired by the Nature Conservancy and will become a part of Henry W. Coe State Park. The 4,413-acre ranch contains bald eagles, deer, mountain lions, and wild turkeys. With its proximity to Silicon Valley, the Mount Hamilton -Diablo range faces increasing development pressure.
