City planners are attempting to create a 2.4-mile artery through downtown Los Angeles linking the the Walt Disney Concert Hall to East L.A.
"Architect Doug Suisman, of Suisman Urban Design, said the team will use its expertise in transportation, architecture, landscape, lighting, public art and musical programming to craft the First Street plan. The project will tackle issues such as traffic flow, bus stop and parking locations, a special bus line, and pedestrian-friendly improvements. A second phase could include similar linkages to Main Street between Terminal Annex on the north and Fourth Street on the south."
