Claiming that water problems won't slow growth, Sin City bets on expansion over sustainability. Some experts think the city will come up snake-eyes.

Despite five years of drought in America's fiercest desert, Las Vegas's main water agencies feel that water won't stop Sin City from growing even larger. While city officials press for new wells in Nevada, environmentalists and smart growth advocates are trying to stop a new pipeline that would divert groundwater from rural farming to suburban housing.
