An education conference underscores the need to radically rethink on how architects are taught urbanism.
A conference organised by the Council for European Urbanism and supported by INTBAU has called for a radical shake-up in education of architects and urbanists. The Declaration of Viseu that was issued by the conference identifies serious problems in the way that teaching of architecture and urbanism is currently undertaken, and calls for institutions to subscribe to the new code. The architecture schools of the Catholic University of Portugal and the Polytechnic of Bari, Italy have already adopted the Declaration.
