$30 Million San Francisco Waterfront Project

An entertainment complex is planned for San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. Too much like Las Vegas, say critics. Great tourist appeal say supporters.

Cleveland-based Malrite company plans a $30 million project on San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, complete with a model Golden gate Bridge, fake fog, earthquake and theme park. Supporters say that it is a first class tourist destination; opponents charge that it's Las Vegas on San Francisco's 11-acre Pier 45. At issue is the integrity of San Francisco's Bay versus a world-class development.
