A poll conducted by The Mercury News found seven of 10 Santa Clara County voters want the BART in San Jose, CA, and are willing to pay more taxes to make it happen. The poll found that a majority of voters are willing to support a 20-year, half-cent sales tax beingconsidered for transportation improvements and prefer the BART overcheaper alternatives. Four of every five likely voters say they want to voteon the measure this fall.
