A prominent statewide organization of planners and civic leaders is promoting a platform of ideas that it says will lift Florida's growth management laws to a higher standard.The not-for-profit 1,000 Friends of Florida hopes to convince the public that there's a better way to control growth than the idea that a grass-roots movement wants to put on the fall ballot.
