The Dublin City Council favors two of the three anti-growth measures due for the November ballot, each of which aim to curb city sprawl.
Both the Voters' Voice Initiative, written by Dublin residents, and the Tri-Valley Business Council's Vision 2010 measure are supported by the council and would prohibit development outside urban growth boundaries. The Sierra Club's Save Our Agricultural and Open Space aims to support city-centered growth, but city officials criticize the required countywide vote to break through the growth boundary, asserting that land planning issues in Dublin are not relevant to residents in Emeryville or Berkeley.
