Women, many in their 20's, are increasingly looking to build equity by owning their own home rather than renting. In purchasing a home, single women are likely to seek a location close to family, friends, and work. Security features, such as good outside lighting, are also an important consideration. And, some women keep shopping after their first purchase---a growing number are investing in a second property to rent out.
