Cisco Details Campus Plans

The first phase of Cisco Systems controversial $1.3 billion development in Coyote Valley, San Jose, CA, is planned tostart in November, with six officebuildings for 3,300 employees and a parking garage. In an effort to soften the criticism that the development will destroy Coyote Valley's agricultural character, Cisco plans to use elementssuch as native grasses and iron silhouettes of grazing horses. But opponents still concerned about dirtier air, higher housing prices and increased traffic they say willresult from this development want the city to draft environmentalreport, which could cause the project to be delayed byat least six months.
