Southern California's Inland Empire city of Ontario moves to remake its civic center.

"The burgeoning Inland Empire city of Ontario, California, has joined the growing list of Golden State towns seeking to revamp their downtown areas. City officials are in negotiations with Los Angeles developer J.H. Snyder Company on the creation of a $200 million mixed-use district in the heart of Ontario's civic center.Covering 12 city blocks, the new district would contain new housing, office space, entertainment and shopping, arranged in a square doughnut around Ontario City Hall and a new library already under construction."
