Once known for its extensive light-rail system, Southern California sold its soul to the freeway almost sixty years ago. Now, from San Diego to Pasadena, transit communities are staging a comeback as new lines open opportunities for car-free living. A new development in Santa Ana, located next to a train depot, attempts to create urban neighborhoods in a suburban setting.
