As Atlanta's reputation as an inexpensive place to live and do business spread far andwide, so did the region itself. This rapid expansion, accompanied by the absence of apublic will to support adequate planning...

According to the report, authored by David Goldberg, there is mounting evidence that Atlanta region is losing its ability to provide modestlypriced housing for families. Atlant's "strategy" has been based on cheap rural land and freeways,and is failing.

The research, coming on the heels of similar conclusions by a metro Chamber-led commission, indicates that even in Atlanta the sprawl machine is exhausting its capacity to deliver the good life on the cheap, and it is catastrophically failing the working poor.
