About a quarter of baby boomers now between 40 and 45 are thinking about buying a home in a senior community.

"The oldest of the 77 million baby boomers are almost 60, and retirement communities, with a few modifications, aren't looking that bad... Seventy-five percent say they will buy a new home and they want to live in active adult communities packed with high-tech features such as high-speed Internet connections. But unlike the older generation, the young want to live near their current home, no more than an hour away."
