Burbank Nixes Airport Terminal Land

Burbank needs a new airport terminal. But the 81 acres set aside for that project will not be purchased by the Airport Authority.

The city of Burbank has declined to purchase the 81 acres which was slated for a new $300 million terminal to replace the existing facility built in 1930. The parcel will now be put on the open market. Opponents object to the noise and traffic that would be created in their community. The Airport Authority is moving ahead with a federal study of airport noise.
