$80 Million Industrial Park in LA's Chinatown

One of the last open pieces of land in downtown Los Angeles is scheduled for industrial park development. Opponents say that the fight over the Cornfield is not over.

A 47-acre abandoned railroad yard next to Chinatown was approved for development by the Central Area Planning Commission. Proponents say that the proposed industrial park will bring in jobs and revenue. Opponents argue that Chinatown needs schools and senior housing. The developer is Majestic Realty Co.
