Whitney Gould, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel urban spaces columnist, answers questions from readers.
From among the 20 questions:
Question: Does the city of Milwaukee have a Master Plan regarding architechture and design for new structures rising up in the next few years.
Whitney Gould answers: "The city has a comprehensive plan for the downtown that, in a nutshell, calls for a dense, walkable neighborhood with housing just about everywhere and zones for entertainment, offices and other businesses. The plan talks about how buildings should address the street, what heights are appropriate in which areas, etc., but doesn't prescribe specific styles. Where this plan and the plan for the Park East could use some tweaking is in the area of open space: There isn't enough of it."
