Loft-style apartments will open in August at the intersection of 4th and Main Streets in downtown LA. The Los Angeles Conservancy's architectural survey will be released today.

Fifty of the 200 empty office buildings in downtown LA (along Broadway, Main and Spring streets) are suited to housing conversion. One conversion is complete and will open in August. Although previous efforts to rejuvenate LA's historic core have failed, this is part of an ongoing effort to rehabilitate the area.
