RiverPark is a new master plan mixing residences, public schools, a hotel, convention center and a 14-park open-space network. The central town square includes housing, retail, offices and restaurants. Built upon classic planning principles known as Traditional Neighborhood Design (TND), RiverPark is created to be pedestrian-friendly and human-scaled, with neighborhoods built in compact clusters emphasizing front porches and walkways rather than automobiles. At over 700 acres, RiverPark may be the largest, most comprehensive TND development in Southern California. Years in the planning, the project formally breaks ground on Tuesday, September 14.
