Joe Rodriguez says that what may appear to be an issue of Native American sovereignty may actually be a scam to skirt around local zoning laws.
"If you had to live close to the following, which one would you choose: an Indian casino, a nuclear-waste dump on Indian land, or urban sprawl on Indian property?
I'd pick the leftover nukes, because we can be sure the dump would never be built and the land could be left pristine forever. As a plus, we wouldn't have to pry environmental activists named Butterfly or Sierra off every rock.
And if I had to, I'd settle for an Indian casino."
