"Denver is curious. It has this amazing beauty - the light, the setting. Then, there's the city. Denver is a commercial city. I'm not used to the city being just about commerce. It's as though nature is everything and the city is a commercial byproduct... By the absolute rigidity of the planning and the scale of the urbanism. It's as though everything happened at once. Denver doesn't feel as if it's been layered, reflected upon or modified."
