Survey ranks U.S. cities for delivery of services and information via the Internet.
"The researchers analyzed 1,873 sites, an average of 26.8 for each city, measuring them against a list of criteria including availability of government information and fully executable online services; means of communication between citizens and government; disability and foreign-language access; readability level; and the presence of advertising and requirements for user fees.
In this years study, the researchers found little change in the number of city sites that were compliant with disability-access standards and that offered their information and services in languages other than English. But they did find improvement in several areas, including online availability of privacy and security policies and information; access to online databases; and posting of e-mail addresses for direct communication between citizens and government."
