Urban riverfronts are a prime opportunity to accommodate to diversity of uses – not only with shoreline parks, but buildings and streets that can bring new life to the river edges. The plans to redevelop the riverfronts of Washington, D.C. promise to draw the Anacostia and the Potomoac in from the periphery of the city and instead to become focal points with places to live, play, and work.
