Blogger Mike Lewyn responds to blogger Jane Galt, discussing the recent New York Times article which 'explodes the myths of smart growth.'
Michael Lewyn responds to Jane Galt's response to the New York Times article,The Autonomist Manifesto:
"Galt's ideal of smart growth is not mine. To me, 'smart growth' means more people can get to more places in more than one way (i.e. not just by driving). My ideal is that you should be able to get the schools you want WITHOUT having to move a zillion miles out to an automobile-dependent suburb; this was the norm in America for the first half of the 20th century, and I don?t know why it cannot be that way again."
