Newhall Ranch development has gained a water diversion agreement from a Ventura County water district. Five other issues must be resolved before the project can restart.
Newhall Ranch is a 21,600-home community in LA County on the Ventura County line, and is the largest development ever approved in LA County. The project has been stalled by court action until it can satisfy the judge on 6 key issues; one of them is water availability. One Ventura County water district has shifted sides, and alligned with the developer. Opponents say that this will reduce the water available to Ventura County.
