Transit Fact Book

A new TCRP manual contains background, statistics, and a framework for measuring transit availability and quality of service from the passenger point of view.

The Transit CooperativeResearch Program has released the second edition of its encyclopedia of transit facts and figures. The book, called the Transit Capacity and Quality of Service Manual, weighs in at 622 pages, with 42 chapters. The content includes introductions and overviews, as well as specific information on evaluatingquality of service. The manual also contains separate sections on bus and rail transit. For those who register with the Web site, www.tcrponline.org, the manual is reportedly available online as a PDF. The full manual is also available free of charge and can be ordered online.
