$51 Billion For Transit At Stake On November 2

Over 53 transit ballot initiatives will be voted on this year, worth over $51 billion.

With uncertainty over federal funding, and increasing local demand for transit, a record number of communities are going to voters this year to help fund a range of public transit initiatives.

"The 53 transportation measures on ballots for all of 2004 far surpass the 16 last year and 38 in 2002. Of the 22 measures already decided this year, 18 were approved."
