New Highway Would Increase Traffic

According to a state study, new inter-county highway in Maryland planned to reduce congestion would increase traffic instead.

Montgomery County officials and state lawmakers who oppose construction of ICC pointed out that the state's study of the ICCs environmental impact suggesting an increase of traffic on the Capital Beltway by 2030, if the planned inter-county highway would be built. "This completely refutes the notion the ICC would relieve gridlock" and alleviate traffic on the (Capital) Beltway.
