Toronto's mayor shares his ideas on how to make the city a more beautiful place.
In his platform, mayor David Miller gave urban design a prominent place. Many of Miller's observations and prescriptions pertain to street furniture, "the current argot for garbage bins and transit shelters to which a higher design aesthetic has been applied." In particular, the mayor asks us to contemplate whether 37 newspaper boxes outside one subway station may be just a little excessive.
